Develop the leader. Take back the operation.

NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU’VE BEEN DOING THIS

New Authorized Officer or 20-year veteran—we all need another set of eyes sometimes.

Every operation develops bottlenecks. Staffing, accountability, payroll, service, fleet, communication, leadership—sometimes you are too close to the business to see what is really holding it back.

Last Mile Leadership works with you and your Business Contact to identify those bottlenecks, challenge the way things have always been done, and build practical solutions that fit your operation.

01

Find the Bottleneck

Identify the real issue behind recurring problems instead of treating the symptom every day.

02

Build the Solution Together

Work with the AO and BC to create systems that make sense for your specific operation.

03

Strengthen the BC

Give your BC the structure, authority, and leadership tools to manage the team with confidence.

04

Get the AO Out of the Weeds

Reduce unnecessary owner involvement so you can focus on the business instead of every daily fire.

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR COMPANY

For years, too many drivers have been running the operation.

How many times have you heard, “That’s not my route”? Or watched a BC get pulled in ten directions because every driver wants the operation built around what works best for them?

That culture burns BCs out, weakens accountability, and puts the business on defense. Your drivers are critical to the operation—but they should not be setting the rules of the company.

“That’s not my route.”

The goal is not to fight your drivers. The goal is to create clear standards, consistent accountability, and a leadership structure where the BC can lead without being run into the ground.

Clear expectationsEveryone knows the standard.
Real accountabilityProblems are addressed consistently.
BC authorityYour manager can actually manage.
Owner controlThe company runs by your system—not driver preference.

WHO IT’S FOR

This is for Authorized Officers who want leverage—not another layer of management.

Whether you are brand new to ownership or have been doing this for decades, the right BC should reduce owner involvement, improve execution, and become a reliable operating leader.

✓ You already have a Business Contact, but they still depend on you too much.
✓ You have a strong driver you want to develop into a Business Contact.
✓ Your operation needs better accountability and management structure.
✓ You want your Business Contact to understand the business—not just dispatch.
✓ You want to step out of daily firefighting and lead at the Authorized Officer level.

ABOUT LAST MILE LEADERSHIP

Built by someone who worked her way through the operation.

Kelsey Turner started as a driver in 2018 and worked her way into a Business Contact role, learning the operation from the ground up. Today, she operates two GOLD CSAs and owns a mechanic shop—experience that gives her a practical view of the people, fleet, leadership, and systems it takes to run a strong last-mile operation.

The mission is simple: help contractors develop Business Contacts who can lead people, manage the operation, and take real ownership of the day-to-day business—while helping Authorized Officers identify bottlenecks and build better systems around the people they already have.

HOW IT WORKS

Simple. Practical. Built around your operation.

1

Assess

Identify the leadership team’s strengths, recurring bottlenecks, and biggest management gaps.

2

Develop

Develop the specific leadership, accountability, operational, and financial skills the team needs.

3

Implement

Put routines, standards, scorecards, and accountability systems into practice.

4

Lead

Build a Business Contact who can make decisions, own outcomes, and reduce dependence on the Authorized Officer.

Technology should give your leaders more time to lead.

I use GroundSwell in my own companies to help reduce the time my management team spends rebuilding route plans and to improve operational visibility.

GroundSwell is not required to work with Last Mile Leadership. It is simply a tool I believe in because I use it in the businesses I operate.
